Anne de Bellevue as a fundraiser for NOVA, is looking for a person to Chair meetings and help ensure that fund raising ideas are approved and carried out by teams of volunteers. CHSLD Bayview is a long term care hospital. The center is in desperate need of a volunteer to help with their birds, cleaning their cages and adding fresh food and water one visit per week for approximately 1 hour. Also they need volunteers (between 5pm and 7pm once a week),to provide supervision and social interaction for residents suffering from the effects of Alzheimer’s. Volunteer West Island Tele-Check is a new service offered through Volunteer West Island to assure the well being of W.I. seniors. Volunteers are needed from 9am to 12 noon on weekday mornings to check in, by phone, with seniors who are housebound or isolated. Please call Yolanda at 514-457-5445 Ext 227 if you are interested. ADD Family Resource Ctr. Is a non-profit organization that supports children with learning disabilities. They are seeking an active or retired educational professional who can help with program development. Also someone with office skills to help with general office work, two or three times a week.
The Douglas Hospital is starting a new program called Moving Ahead. Currently they have clients residing in foster homes in Pierrefonds and they need volunteers who can help them be more active, happier and have a more fulfilling life.
