Clarifications
In the article 'Lessons from our bloody past,' The Chronicle, April 23, a death toll for the Kosovo crisis by the end of the 1990s was mistakenly numbered at 230,000. That number is actually the amount of refugees, not deaths, according to U.N., N.A.T.O., and Human Rights Watch reports. The Chronicle regrets the error.
Clarification

In the article 'Everything but the bathroom sink,' (The Chronicle, April 23) it was stated a Korean student stayed with Mrs. Golan until she was taken away by the Lester B. Pearson School Board. According to Mrs. Golan, the board only threatened to take her away. The student left of her own accord afterward, returning to Korea.
