Do you really think Mark Streit will pass up millions of dollars because his girlfriend's a Montrealer? He's a nice enough guy to consider it, but does anyone really think anyone in the NHL gives "hometown discounts" anymore, if GM's don't offer MORE to guys with roots in a certain city to be sure to keep them?

Don't you wish proud Montrealer Jason Pominville was playing for Team Canada at Worlds? I guess if you can handle a few years living in Buffalo you deserve American citizenship.

Think Saku should ask his kid brother to come to Montreal, so we'd have two brother combos playing at the same time? If AK Bars Kazan really wanted to sign Andrei Kostitsyn, you'd think they'd make a wild offer to Sergei as well!

Don't you think Brian Smolinski should move on, or Patrice Brisebois announce his retirement, or Michael Ryder sign with the Bruins?

Does a 23-year old Swede whose favourite NHL player is Alex Kovalev really fly under the radar so far that every NHL team's scouts left him undrafted? Well I do love the fact that after visiting Montreal, Fabian Brunnstrom had the good sense to head home to Sweden to think about his future and NOT even bother visiting Toronto.

Don't you think Cliff Fletcher, proud Lachine native and Hockey Hall of Famer, deserves better than being Interim GM of the Toronto Laughing-Stocks?

Spoke to Jabari Arthur this week. Dollard's Next Big Thing in the NFL is home visiting his Mom after surviving Rookie Camp. Jabari played for North Shore, then Vanier, and was drafted by the Calgary Stampeders a year before the Kansas City Cheifs got hold of him. Jabari tells me he got his work ethic from his mother, a veteran nurse at the Montreal General. Ginese has really done this man well...he insists he did all his own laundry before coming home to visit!
