Team-bonding in Regina? The Als are sequestered in the town where they once busted out so bad after another loss to the Roughriders, even Don Matthews invoked a curfew -- the only time he ever did during his coaching tenure. I can still see Barron Miles shaking his head at the barenaked follies of some of his then-teammates in the halls of one of Regina's finest hotels.

I don't think the Als rushed the gun on Jason Armstead. They were in fact more patient than I thought they'd be. Armstead refused to run with abandon, and his brain-cramps in the final minutes against the Riders only sealed his fate for three previous weeks of under-achieving.

The longer Mats Sundin takes to mull over his future, the longer some Habs fans keep hope he's coming here. But in Vancouver, Canuckle-heads are wondering why Mats simply isn't rushing to grab $20-mill in the warmup to the 2010 Olympics. They're wondering if Mats wants to pull a Selanne and only show up after Christmas. A Stanley Cup sleeper-cell. If I'm Bob Gainey, I'd be cool with that.

Wayne Conrad's Grey Cup ring from 1977 is appraised at $5,500. His Grey Cup jersey from '77 is beautifully framed (and that can cost $1,000 as well to be done right). So bidding is now at $6500 for the ring and jersey from the infamous Staple Game to support the Proudfoot Fund. If you've got that kind of money kicking around for a piece of history, I hope you'll let me know, because Wayne's sacrifice for his Alouette teammate is honourable.

I think Tony should be considered for the Order of Quebec and the Order of Canada, don't you?

Brian Chiu's buddies on the Als are calling him "Kung Fu Panda". Skadoosh! I'll take the Panda in an ultimate fight against ThunderMonkey any day!
