Sexual assault in Dorval
A 23-year old woman was reportedly sexually assaulted Sept. 9 at dawn between 3:30 and 4 a.m.
The incident occurred near Dorval Avenue when the woman went into a small street to urinate, police said. She was thrown on the floor and assaulted by a male suspect who looked to be approximately 25 years old, weighed 180 pounds and measured 1 metre 80. He had a blonde beard, wore black jeans and a black hoodie.
Arson averted
No major victims or damages were reported after a mysterious would-be arsonist tried to set fire to an apartment building on Wilson Street in Dollard des Ormeaux last Thursday at around 1 p.m., Montreal police Station 4 community relations officer Leslie Potts said. Firemen arrived immediately to put out the blaze before it could catch on. There are no suspect descriptions to accompany the incident.
I-pod, wallet theft
Police are warning residents to be on the look-out after a 16-year-old male found himself attacked near the corner of Château Pierrefonds and Gouin Boulevard after midnight on Sept. 2.
The suspect apparently approached his victim and asked for money to take the bus. He left when refused, but later returned and struck the victim in the back, toppling him to the floor. The suspect then stole the victim's I-pod and wallet before taking off.
Reportedly he asked for help from a taxi driver who called police instead, and ran away.
"It's the second time recently that something like this is happening in our corner, in the West Island," said community relations officer Dan Maheu, adding residents should be careful if they feel like they are dealing with suspicious strangers.
The suspect is described as roughly 16-year-old black youth who is 1.75 metres tall, with an afro haircut.
