Espoir Tigers help needy hockey kids
The Ile-Bizard based Lac St. Louis midget espoir Tigers, with the support of the Lac St Louis hockey community (including parents of Tigers’ players) reached out to help young hockey players in need on Sunday. The Tigers provided equipment for several children hoping to play hockey in Parc Extension and Sun Youth districts, both located in Montreal.

"We received a lot of support from the community, skates, gloves, pants, shoulder pads, everything really, said Tigers general manager Chris Sides. “The Complexe Sportif Saint Raphael staff really pitched in and helped us transition the equipment from givers to receivers. They helped out with the tailgate party and the result is, some kids are going to be able to play hockey. Afterwards, Reg Gresseau a representative of Parc Extension and Sun Youth told us, ‘you guys really reacted quickly, thank you very much for your help.’”

The success continued on the ice afterwards for the Tigers. Head coach Sam Ghilarducci’s troops defeated the Lac St. Louis Predators 9-3.
