Jean is an excellent student and an excellent air cadet, and his public-speaking ability has won him plaudits. Allow us to do the same. The Dollard des Ormeaux resident is a sergeant with the Royal Canadian Air Cadets 803 North Shore Sabre Squadron and was twice recognized with the Poppy Appreciation Award from the Royal Canadian Legion for his involvement in Remembrance Day campaigns and was awarded the Legion;s Medal of Excellence for outstanding leadership, comradeship, citizenship and cadet service. He also won the silver medal at the regional air-cadet public-speaking competition. The Loyola High School student had the top academic average in his class and won medals in the chess competition, and the history and science fairs. He also gives his time as an altar server at St. Luke's Parish. Maj. Tammy Wallace describes Jean as "truly a man for others."
