What Virus has Jacques Martin more worried than H1N1? Win1Lose2?
If clothes make the man, do masks define the goalie?
After only 1 win in 8 decisions with his ghoulish skulls mask fitting for Halloween, Carey returned to form in Phoenix with his Remembrance Day tribute mask being donated to Wounded Warriors. But when in Music City, a Cowboy Goalie wants his Country Music cage. In Nashville, Carey's brought his mask with portraits of his faves George Straight and Garth Brooks.
There may be no "I" in Team or Ego, but don't you still expect Casey Printers to tear up the Ti-Cats and perhaps even put a scare into Als fans November 22nd? That's why it is so important for fans to fight apathy and ensure the Olympic Stadium Wall of Sound Defense is at its highest decibel levels. I'll have Dave Mudge at field level with a decibel level metre on loan from my brother, a veteran teacher at Selwyn House School.
If any QB can scare Stamps fans in a Western Semi-Final its got to be Ricky Ray, but the Battle of Alberta should go Calgary's way. The duel between Smilin' Hank and Cool-Hand Calvillo is destiny. Hope this year at Grey Cup Week Burris won't be whining about Joffrey Reynolds having the Western Nomination and being trounced by AC again?!
What do cranky Habs fans have in common with BlueBomber and Ticat fans? They'll always jeer the starter and cheer the backup. Halak is drawing virulent support from some fans who'll root for the Battling Bratislava Bull (Underdog) over the perceived Golden Boy or Chosen One. I've got no problem with that. But why does it have to be one or the other for this angry element? Why can't the Habs have the best of both worlds---Jaro and Carey both bringing their A-games?
Didn't I tell you Plek would have a big bounce-back season? Aren't you glad he's got a different agent than Jaro, one who doesn't put the 'twit' back in Twitter?
Thanks for all the kind e-mails from CJAD listeners and blog-readers who heard Flying Officer James Moffat of the Lion Squadron on Remembrance Day. You can read more about the heroics of the Belgian and French Resistance in "Behind Enemy Lines" by Mary Thomas, who wrote my father's WW2 memoir.
