Wilkinson kicks for Canada
Baie d’Urfé native Rhian Wilkinson found herself in South Korea last week, part of a Canadian women’s senior soccer team that captured silver at the Peace Queen Cup Tournament. With Wilkinson seeing action, Canada lost 1-0 to the United States in Saturday’s final. The former Lac St. Louis AAA Lakers performer, who went on to play for the University of Tennessee, also played a key part in Canada’s preliminary games, particularly its 4-2 victory over Brazil on Friday. She scored a goal and set up another by striker phenomenon Christine Sinclair in a key game Canada needed to win to qualify for the final.
