Health director made official
The West Island Health and Social Services Network officially removed the 'interim' from Suzanne Turmel's title recently, designating her as the permanent successor to Luc Lepage. Lepage resigned from his executive-director post Sept. 23, and Turmel had been filling the post in his absence.

New executive director Turmel has worked with the network since June 2005, first as assistant to the executive director and then as assistant executive director for client services. Before that, she worked at Hopital du Haut-Richelieu. Turmel was confirmed in a Nov. 27 meeting of the network's board of directors

"I'm confident she is the best person to lead us in the further implementation of integrated and effective health services in the West Island," said board chairman Sheila Laursen.
