New exhibit set to launch
BY BRIAN HAMILTON
A new exhibition at the Pierrefonds Cultural Centre will be displaying the works of two West Island painters, Huguette St-Germain and Halina Zabka.
Selected by exhibition co-ordinator Lyne Duclos of the cultural centre, Ile Bizard native St-Germain is happy to finally have her work on display. “I’ve been painting my whole life. I want to have my work known,” said St-Germain.
She is excited to have approximately 20 of her art pieces on display. St-Germain’s work is primarily inspired by music, mostly blues and jazz. If you find yourself in love with one of her pieces, she is open to selling her work.
Zabka’s artwork has already won several prizes. One will notice her art is inspired by everyday objects and life experiences, from fruit to a camel-back ride in Tunisia. Zabka is a self-taught painter who continually works on discovering new techniques and styles to provide her paintings a more distinct and personal signature. If you wish to speak with St-Germain or Zabka regarding their art, they will be in attendance Friday from 7 to 9:30 p.m., Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Pierrefonds Cultural Centre is located at 13850 Gouin Blvd.
