Canada Post vans were vandalized.

Vandals struck Canada Post’s Pointe Claire depot last weekend and spray painted 21 step vans. The sides and windows of vehicles were covered with tags scrawled in black spray paint, according to Canada Post.
Employees at the Donegani Avenue depot, adjacent to the Valois post office, discovered the graffiti Monday morning.

Windshields and windows on four vans were scrubbed in the morning and despite the mess, the mail was delivered, spokesman Manon Clément said.

However, many of the dispatched vehicles were plastered with graffiti.

“Unfortunately, the citizens will see these vans today on the road,” she said Monday, adding there were no discernable words on the vans, just drawings. “It’s deplorable not only for us as a citizen, but also for our employees because they take pride in delivering the mail.”

Clément added it wasn’t the first time vandals visited the depot. Three vans were spray-painted on Jan. 2 and two more in October, she said. Police are still investigating, said Const. Olivier Lapointe of Montreal police.
