WINNIPEG - A review into a Winnipeg pathologist's work hasn't uncovered any patients so far who needed more cancer treatment because of incorrect or incomplete test results.
The Winnipeg Health Authority says at first it appeared that there were three cases which might require additional therapy. But doctors have now met with those patients and determined that isn't the case.
Interim results flagged 14 of 289 files for further study, but there was no clinical impact in 12 of those cases.
The remaining two are still under investigation.
The health authority says the review is now moving into more complex cases handled by the senior pathologist, who has been put on leave.
