NORTH VANCOUVER, B.C. - The names of all three victims of an apartment fire in North Vancouver have now been released.
North Vancouver RCMP say 80-year-old Annetta Meester and 78-year-old Rita Phillips managed to make it through thick smoke but collapsed in the apartment lobby, just steps from safety.
Eighty-four-year-old Ilse Dragossy was identified Wednesday as the woman found dead on the third floor of the 26-suite building.
It is believed flames broke out in a lower floor of the apartment late Tuesday night and quickly spread upward, engulfing all the suites in one corner of the three-storey structure.
A private meeting of building residents, firefighters and other emergency workers is planned for 1 p.m. this afternoon to answer questions about issues such as food and shelter.
Fire officials are still investigating the blaze as suspicious and have already estimated it will be several days before residents can return to their homes.
