WINDSOR, Ont. - A Windsor, Ont., man is facing new charges in connection with a fire that claimed the life of a 64-year-old woman last month.
Elizabeth Conn and her son, Shawn, were trapped inside their home when the building caught fire in early September. Conn died weeks later in hospital and her 38-year-old son, who was injured, he has since left hospital.
A tenant in the home, 38-year-old Franklyn Wallace, was originally charged with arson endangering life and sexual assault.
He is now also charged with manslaughter and arson causing bodily harm, and is to appear court today.
It's alleged Wallace started the fire on the front porch of the home following an argument.
