REGINA - Police in Saskatchewan are searching for a dangerous prisoner who was mistakenly released from Regina Court of Queen's Bench.
John Albert Dumont, 29, was set free Thursday after being acquitted of a robbery charge. However, he was supposed to remain in custody for a court appearance on a robbery charge in Prince Albert.
Police say Dumont should not be approached.
Saskatchewan's Ministry of Corrections, Public Safety and Policing is investigating what happened.
The ministry may take disciplinary action against any people found responsible for his release.
