Quebec man on first parachute jump dies after landing on power lines

ST-JEAN-CHRYSOSTOME, Que. - A Quebec man has died after he landed on high-voltage power lines during his first solo parachute jump.
The man, who is in his 30s, was taken to hospital suffering from electric shock.
He was declared dead at the hospital.
Levis police say they do not know what caused the man to drift onto the 25,000-volt Hydro-Quebec lines and their investigation is continuing.
The victim, who is from the Quebec City region, was making the jump under the supervision of two instructors.
