WINNIPEG - About 200 people wearing bright red shirts have held a rally outside the Manitoba legislature to show support for Canadian troops in Afghanistan.
The event is one of many so-called Red Fridays that have been staged across the country.
Many military family members used the event to speak of their loved ones serving overseas.
Organizer Doug May, whose son is currently in Afghanistan, says the event is aimed at providing a morale boost for the troops.
The rally was videotaped so that troops in Afghanistan can see the show of support.
