FRANKLIN, Man. - A woman from Belgium visiting family in Canada has been killed in a collision between a pickup truck and a semi loaded with gravel in western Manitoba.
RCMP say Ann Marie Parmentier, 70, was the driver and lone occupant of the pickup that collided with the semi at an uncontrolled intersection north of Franklin early Friday evening. Parmentier was thrown from her vehicle and died at the scene.
The driver of the semi suffered minor injuries.
Police say alcohol is not believed to have been a factor.
Franklin is about 200 kilometres northwest of Winnipeg.
