MONTREAL - A man who allegedly sucker-punched a bar patron in a fit of anger and put him into a coma has been charged with assault causing bodily harm.
Two men were arrested after the incident early Sunday morning but the second was released.
Montreal police say the man who was charged was angry after he was refused entry to a bar in the Lachine borough because it was closing for the night.
The man then allegedly jumped the first patron who walked out of the bar and savagely beat him.
The 20-year-old suffered head injuries and remains in hospital in a coma.
Police say it appears the attacker did not know the victim.
