WINNIPEG - Mounties in western Manitoba are calling on truckers across the country for help in the death of a man struck several times on the Trans-Canada Highway.
RCMP Staff Sgt. Moe Massart says a trucker realized he had hit something near Virden early Saturday and called police.
Massart says the 46-year-old victim was struck by a truck once again before police arrived at the scene.
Police are now looking for the first truck that hit the man and are asking all drivers to check their rigs for evidence.
He says it's likely the trucker didn't even realize he had hit anyone.
Massart says the driver could be anywhere in North America since the Trans-Canada is the busiest highway in the country.
