West Island students rewarded
Two West Island students each won an award from the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal at the Outstanding Student Award on May 29.

Rewarding talent and excellence of Secondary V students as well as vocational education students, the awards consist of a gold, silver or bronze plate and a scholarship. Students competed in five categories: arts, vocational education, science and mathematics and social science/language.

The latter was swiped by our students, as Cristina Daniela Ruscio, from St. Thomas High School in Pointe Claire and Marie-Hélène Bourbonnais from Collège Charlemagne in Pierrefonds won respectively gold and bronze in this category.

Mrs. Ruscio left with a $1 000 scholarship and Mrs. Bourbonnais, with a $300 scholarship.
