Killorn looks forward to NHL draft
The NHL holds its annual entry draft this Saturday in Columbus, Ohio, and one West Islander, Alex Killorn, bears watching. Killorn, a Beaconsfield native who grew up playing in the Lakeshore Hockey system, enters the draft ranked 55th among North American skaters by NHL central scouting. Killorn, a strong skater who sees the ice well, spent the last year playing prep school hockey in the United States at Deerfield Academy. Before that, he led the midget espoir Lac St. Louis Tigers to a provincial championship in 2005 with a key overtime goal in the final before going on to play one year for the midget AAA Lac St. Louis Lions. He was also a member of the Quebec team that won the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge in 2006.
