Car theft spree
Police are warning automobile owners to take extra precautions after a wave of car break-ins and thefts.
Station 5 police say thieves have been especially busy in shopping centre parking lots in Pointe Claire, stealing laptops and other items that have been left in the car, as well as the automobiles themselves. In order to protect your possessions, police caution automobile owners to make sure the doors are locked, and to never leave any valuables in the car.
Flash in the slam
Police arrested a 32-year-old man on Saturday after receiving calls about someone exposing themselves to passersby. Station 5 officers apprehended the man at the Holiday Inn building in Pointe Claire. The suspect has been charged with exhibitionism.
Hooch stolen from golf club
A 62-year-old night watchman was threatened at gunpoint as three robbers made off with a number of expensive bottles of alcohol from Royal Montreal Golf Club in Ile Bizard the early hours of last Thursday, police said
Three men approached the watchman last Thursday around 2:45 a.m. and held him at gunpoint at the course, said Montreal police Station 3 Const. Dan Maheu. The three men wore masks, spoke French, and were described as about 25 years old, Maheu added.
While one of the thieves held the gun on the watchman, the other two stole about 40 bottle of expensive, high-end alcohol from the club. Police continue to investigate.
