On October 20th we had our 1st annual Fall Fair, thank you to all who participated in making this a great success; just over $ 9000.00 was raised!

On November 14th the kindergarten students went ice skating at the Dorval Arena, fun was had by all.

The Heart and Stroke Foundation is looking for volunteers to fill different positions. They need someone for office work, primarily data entry. They also need someone to recruit volunteers over the phone to help in the door-to-door campaign during February.



Volunteer West Island is presently in need of handypersons to help seniors with small chores around the house. They also need volunteers interested in joining their Board of Directors. The Meals on Wheels kitchens in Kirkland and Beaconsfield are in desperate need of drivers.

A residence for low income seniors, in Pierrefonds, needs a volunteer to attend Board meetings every two months and to serve as Treasurer of the Board. They also need a volunteer to help in the dining room.

Volunteer Assisted Services need volunteer drivers that will accompany clients to medical appointments. Parking permits will be issued to each driver and they will be compensated for operating expenses.

The Canadian Cancer Society is in need of 10 volunteers to be part of the Organizing Committee for their West Island Relay for Life.

Pointe Claire Army Cadets needs a volunteer music instructor for 1-2 hours on Saturdays.

Big Brothers and Big Sisters of West Island are in need of volunteer mentors for its Elementary In-School Mentoring Program. There are several boys in need of a male role model.
