PCRA Ringette Bulldogs win provincial bronze

Building on their Inter-Regional League Playoff title, the Pointe-Claire Ringette Association’s Novice A (under-10) Bulldogs won the bronze medal March 30 in the Québec City-based Provincial Championships.
The Bulldogs posted a 3-1 record in the provincials and captured the third-place trophy with a 7-2 win over Blainville.

The Bulldogs were full value for their tenacious nickname ten days ago as they hung on for a 7-6 win over Ste-Julie in the inter-league novice playoff championship. This circuit brings together five of the six top novice (under 10) teams in the province, and the PCRA entry posted an inter-league 8-2-2 season mark. Coach Kim Dyer’s club solidified their credentials with a 4-0 playoff record, outscoring their opponents 27-8 before the one-game winner-take-all playoff final.

Chief architect of the title game victory was goaltender Eliane Duguay, as she stymied the home town shooters time after time. The offence was sparked by Shane-Ann Galley`s hat-trick, a pair off the stick of Keely McGann and singles from Morgan Black and Stéphanie Decarie.
