Kirkland byelection Sunday

This Sunday is byelection day in Kirkland’s District 2 (Holleffeur). The byelection was called to find a replacement for former town councillor Joe Sanalitro.

The District 2 seat has been empty since April 28, when Sanalitro officially took over the town’s director general position from retiring interim DG Jules Renauld.

Three candidates have put themselves forward in the race for the seat on council. They are Isidore Barillaro, David Gagnon, and Luciano Piciacchia.

Voting is open to District 2 electors and will take place Sunday between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. at the Holleuffer Chalet, 75 Charlevoix Blvd. For more information, call the returning officer at 514-630-2854. (E.A.)
