A golden night of fashion and fun
Over 800 people celebrated 50 years of the West Island Association for the Intellectually Handicapped (WIAIH) at their gala evening and fashion show last month. Under the theme ‘Through the Years: An Evening of Fun and Fashion,’ models with disabilities strutted their stuff down the runway with volunteer students from West Island College at the Dollard des Ormeaux Civic Centre. Dancers and singers, including Lisa Walsh, a young adult with Williams Syndrome, also delighted crowds with their performances.
The event raised over $20,000 for WIAIH.
