Als open season tonight!
Check Montreal Sportlight all day today as we present our all-day coverage of the Montreal Alouettes' 2008 season opener from Hamilton's Ivor Wynne Stadium.
The Als will take on the Ticats starting at 7 p.m. eastern tonight.
Quarterback Anthony Calvillo hopes to silence the doubters after his 2007 season ended early, having left the team to care for his ailing wife. Happily, Calvillo's wife seems to have completely recovered from the cancer that ravaged her last year and the pivot can focus his energy on the field.
Calvillo's health and arm remain a concern, however, and if he can recover from the pounding he took last season (The Als gave up the most sacks in the CFL in 2007), he and new head coach Marc Trestman's new offence could give the team the shot in the arm it will need to get to the Grey Cup, to be held at the Olympic Stadium in November.
Stay with us all day as Thundermonkey, Rick Moffat, Phillippe Boisvert and I all take our own look at the game, the season and CFL football.
