Ever look to the sky and wonder what’s out there? The Dorval Astronomy Club (DAC) can answer these questions. DAC summer schedule is underway and they are excited to embrace summer because of its many opportunities to enjoy clear skies and see the many starry nights.
DAC began as a group of young science amateurs in 1971 under the name of Comité D'Analyse Des Faits Scientifiques (Analysis Committee of Scientific Facts). The club is open to residents of Dorval for an annual membership fee of $5 and $10 for non-residents. The group meets every second Monday during the summer (mid-June to early September) from 8 to 10 p.m. and every Monday for the rest of the year. All meetings take place at the St. Charles Park Chalet, 88 St. Charles Ave., Dorval.
Attendees can expect to be at ease with asking their questions and sharing their information. All members are approachable and create a relaxed atmosphere by being open to anyone who is curious and shares the same passion for astronomy. Members can also attend lectures and conferences with guest speakers from other clubs and/or professional astronomers.
Please note that lectures will be in French for the most part. For more information on the Dorval Astronomy Club, check
