Suitcase on fire

Residents of Garland Street in Dollard des Ormeaux acted quickly in calling the fire department to put out a garbage can fire at about 10:40 p.m. last Monday night. A suitcase set on fire seemed to be what caused the flames to erupt, station 4 community relations officer Leslie Potts told The Chronicle<@$p>.

Police found contact info on the suitcase and called the owner, Potts added. He was able to recover his suitcase, which was likely set fire to by a group of youth who had stolen it earlier.
