Call for fairness

In the Jan. 7 Chronicle editorial ‘The world needs to step in on Hamas,’you present an improper picture of the Israeli attack on Gaza. You say that Israel has moved ground troops into Gaza in response to rocket attacks from Palestine. What you fail to mention is that for the past 2.5 years, Israel has laid a siege on Gaza that has blocked everything - including food and medical aid - from entering and leaving the already tiny, impoverished and densely-populated piece of land. Even a caged animal will fight with whatever it has to survive.I urge you to be more fair and adhere to proper journalistic principles when reporting on this or any other issue. Your mandate is - or should be - to accurately represent all West Islanders and not

just a particular community.
