Bust bus smokers
Although it is a very worthwhile campaign trying to convince Quebec to prohibit smoking in cars with children passengers (‘Lobbying MNAs for smoking-in-car-with-kids ban,’ The Chronicle, Jan. 28.), I would have thought even more important would be to prohibit smoking in school buses.
Perhaps this is already law but I have seen on more than one occasion a driver on a school bus smoking. Admittedly there were not any children on board at the time but as stated "The material in the car seats absorbs the smoke, so a child will absorb some of those chemicals when they sit there."
Maybe it is time for some re-education for all school bus drivers out there.
