Two Dorval residents receive awards of Excellence from the Montreal Children's Hospital Foundation
On May 28th, during the 10th edition of the annual ABC Awards Ball, The Montreal Children’s Hospital Foundation paid tribute to Dr. Jacquetta Trasler and nurse Heather Davies, both long-time residents of Dorval, for their exceptional contributions to the Hospital’s success.
The Aldo Research Award of Excellence was bestowed upon Dr. Jacquetta Trasler for her contribution to research at The Children’s and her commitment to ensuring that innovative research continues.
The RBC Nursing Award of Excellence was bestowed upon Ms. Davies for striving to improve the quality of care for her patients and for her devotion to the Neurology Department over the last fifteen years.
Launched in 2000, the Awards of Excellence are an initiative of The Montreal Children’s Hospital Foundation. Every year, they provide a forum for honouring ten remarkable individuals having contributed to excellence in pediatric care and an opportunity to shine a spotlight on their stellar contributions to the Hospital, to which they are so deeply attached. The winners are carefully selected by a committee of their peers.
The 2009 edition of the ABC Awards Ball, held at Windsor Station, was attended by 500 guests and raised an outstanding $750,000. This amount will go towards the construction of the new Children’s on the Glen Campus. This year, the Patron of Honour was Dr. Yves Bolduc, Minister of Health and Social Services.
