Hit and run
An unidentified man in his 20s is in critical condition in hospital after falling off an SUV he was standing on top of early Tuesday morning. Montreal Police media relations officer Olivier Lapointe said the man was on top of the vehicle for unknown reasons as it was stopped at a red light on the intersection of Ernest and St. John's Boulevards in Dollard des Ormeaux at about 3:30 a.m.
The vehicle took of when it got the green light, sending its unusually positioned passenger hurtling overboard. He struck his head and lost consciousness. The incident is being considered a hit-and-run because the SUV, which police cannot describe beyond stating it was dark-coloured, left without stopping to help.
Lapointe said police are currently trying to identify the man based off of his fingerprints, as well as looking for any possible leads through security camera footage that stores close to the location may have.
Graffiti vandal arrested, Station 5
Police arrested one out of three suspects that a witness saw painting graffiti inside the underground tunnel on Pine Beach Street in Dorval. A witness spotted them at the entrance of the tunnel . One suspect dropped his backpack while running away, which gave public security the time necessary to detain him until police arrived.
The two suspects who escaped are only described as individuals wearing "clear"-coloured clothing. The incident happened at about 3 a.m. on June 22. The graffiti is described as about six feet high and five feet wide.
