Break-ins around West Island area
Breaking and entering, Station 4
Police are on the look-out for two suspects who broke into a home on Durham Street in Dollard des Ormeaux on Sep. 7 overnight, said Station 4 community relations officer Leslie Potts.
A witness saw two men park a 2000 model "dark-blue or black" car, possibly a Toyota, into the house's driveway, come to the front and knock on the door, before they disappeared into the backyard.
He next saw them leaving in the car. When a caretaker for the house arrived moments later, the witness immediately alerted him.
The caretaker checked the backyard and discovered the two men entered the house through a small window in a bathroom on the bottom floor.
They proceeded to go through the house but it is unclear whether they actually stole anything.
Police say the two men are black, and approximately 20 years old. One suspect was wearing completely black clothes, while the second had red shorts with a black stripe. The latter was also described as being shorter, more corpulent and slightly younger-looking than his friend.
Gym thief strikes, Station 5
An unlucky fitness fan found himself short of a cell phone, a watch and approximately $20 last Thursday after leaving some of his personal items in a Pointe Claire gym locker. Station 5 police media relations officer Liliana Bellucci said a suspect entered the gym's locker room and cut up the lock which the gym user had used to secure his belongings.
When the victim returned to the locker room, he discovered the destroyed lock, as well as the fact his jacket and cell phone were missing. Presumably, the assailant had taken his car keys as well, since the victim emerged in the parking lot to find his vehicle had been entered. He found his car keys and wallet on the passenger seat of his car.
Police have no description of the suspect yet.
