Bands for Baskets" at Bourbon Street West

The artists and volunteers of the Bands For Baskets organization are glad to announce that the 4th chapter of this annual event will take place on December 6th 2009 at Bourbon Street West, located at 1866 Boulevard des Sources. The show will start at 2 PM and will showcase 10 local bands who graciously donate their time and talent to help amass funds and non-perishable foods for the Lakeshore Kiwanis Foundation’s Christmas baskets.



“The event is well attended every year and we would like even more people to come and encourage the artists, of course.” said Peter Angrove, one of the event organizers.

Volunteers will be canvassing some local businesses for donations and door prizes in the coming weeks to help make the day a great experience for all who attend. Angrove also points out that “In these tougher times more families need help and we know that people are solicited and that budgets are stretched, but even if you give just a little, many littles make a lot!”



The show starts at 2 PM and runs until about 11 PM. Great music, door prizes, and the feeling of knowing you’re helping local families have a little bit during the holidays are on the menu.
