WIYSO Benefit Concert for West Island Community Shares
The West Island Youth Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Stewart Grant, will present a benefit concert for West Island Community Shares on Sunday, December 6th at 2:30 p.m. at Mary Queen of Peace Church, 11075 Gouin West in Pierrefonds-Roxboro.

Entitled “O Tannenbaum”, the one-hour concert will present well-known classics from the German Romantic repertoire - including the Academic Festival Overture of Brahms, the Prelude to Act 3 from Wagner’s opera Lohengrin, the Oberon Overture of Weber and Mendelssohn’s Wedding March from A Midsummer Night’s Dream - along with holiday favourites, such as the Fantasia on Greensleeves by Ralph Vaughan Williams and Handel’s Halleluja Chorus, and sing-along Christmas carols.

Tickets are $10 for general admission and $5 for students and seniors. They can be purchased at the door or through West Island Community Shares at (514) 695-8694 or www.partageaction.ca. Children twelve years of age and under can attend for free.
