Teams from as far as Ottawa, Gloucester and Boucherville traveled to Pointe Claire this weekend to participate in the annual Pointe Claire Ringette Association (PCRA) Tournament, which saw 46 teams compete in 12 divisions.

The event began last Friday and champions were named Sunday.

Just 17 seconds into the Junior A final, Megan Sanders took care of all the scoring the PCRA Miracles would need on their way to a 6-0 victory over league rival Beaconsfield-Kirkland Ringette Association (BKRA). PCRA goaltender Alanah Cormier earned the shutout, continuing the excellent play that saw her surrender just three goals in three games over the weekend. Sanders and Laurence Larocque each counted two goals and an assist to lead the Miracles, while Danika Bilodeau and Stephanie Dessureault added goals of their own to round out the scoring.

PCRA also triumphed over BKRA at the Atom A and Benjamin B levels. Captain Shane Ann Galley netted a hat trick and totalled five points and teammate Morgan Black added three points of her own to lead Pointe Claire to a 6-2 victory in Atom A. Meanwhile, the PCRA Tsunamis skated to a 5-3 win in Benjamin B action.

Beaconsfield-Kirkland did have some success against Pointe Claire though, defeating them 6-2 in the Benjamin C final. Overall, they proved to be the most decorated association, claiming five division championships. Two of those wins sent teams from Ontario home with silver medals. Brynne Desparois scored the overtime winner in the Novice C finale, as her Dragons defeated the Gloucester Green Lightning 3-2. Shortly thereafter the Junior B Bullets earned a 4-2 win over the West Ottawa Wild on the strength of two-goal efforts both Amanda Kost and Julie Rafferty. BKRA also took home the Atom B and Intermediate C championships later on in the day.

Pierrefonds claimed the Intermediate B title with a 5-2 win over Pointe Claire, while teams from Boucherville won the Atom C and Novice B divisions. The Ottawa Ice was crowned at the Cadette B level to complete the list of champions.
