YOUNG, GIFTED & BLACK, Montreal’s extraordinary celebration for Black History Month features inspirational performances in drama, music, dance and spoken word - showcases exciting young people, who are bringing positive energy, smarts, style and talent to Montreal culture.

The YOUNG, GIFTED & BLACK 2010 Celebration will take place on Saturday, February 6, at The Oscar Peterson Concert Hall (7141 Sherbrooke street west, show time 8:00PM). Tickets are available at The Oscar Peterson Concert Hall Box Office (514) 848-4848, Admission (514) 790-1245, and other selected outlets.

Not only is YOUNG, GIFTED & BLACK an exciting and memorable experience, it promotes non-violence, cultural diversity and donates funds to charitable organizations and worthy youth causes. This year we are supporting one of DESTA’s goals of taking a group of young adults to revisit their African roots.

Soulful beauty, energy and messages of hope characterize the showcase and make YOUNG, GIFTED & BLACK an event that must be experienced. The theme for this year’s celebration is “My African Roots.” Performers will select an aspect of Africa’s glorious past and create an original performance or a special interpretation dedicated to their choice.
