Marquette PQ candidate happy with his campaign
Marquette's Parti Quebecois candidate Daniel Hurteau told reporters he was content and happy with his performance over the course of the election campaign that turned out to be one of the closest in history.
Hurteau, who hung on to the PQ support gained in the 2003 election, said he was surprised by the strong performance of the Green Party in the riding and very proud of his performance in this campaign. It marks his third foray into politics, where he has been the Lachine East member of the Marguerite-Bourgeoys School Board for the past four years

"It was a great experience," he said. "We had a small team and few resources and we had to work doubly as hard to get a good result," Hurteau said, adding he "was hoping for a victory."

Hurteau was despondent over the ADQ's strong performance, which vaulted them over the PQ as the official opposition in Quebec City – but with a team sorely lacking political experience. Hurteau added he wasn't closing the door on future possible forays into politics – far from it, in fact – and said he's hoping the next provincial election comes sooner rather than later.
