Advisory issued Monday afternoon

Centre (HSSC) administration is asking people to avoid the Lakeshore General Hospital emergency in Pointe Claire for the next 24 hours.
The unusual numbers of patients that came to the emergency justifies this decision, HSSC officials stated.

As of this morning, there were 54 people on stretchers in the ER ward (with a capacity of 31), with 19 patients waiting for more than 48 hours, according to the Montreal regional health board website.

The LGH’s emergency will remain open but it will have to prioritize people with a critical health condition.

The West Island HSSC advises people who wanted to come to the emergency to contact the Info-Santé service in order to receive advice on their health condition and to get a list of walk-in clinics where they will be able to see a doctor.

West Island residents can reach the Info-Santé service by dialling: CLSC Lac-Saint-Louis sector (south): 514-697-4110

CLSC Pierrefonds sector (north): 514-626-2572
