Gordon McCall’s production of an unpublished Norm Foster play will be among the highlights of an exciting 15th summer season at Hudson Village Theatre.
“It should be a lot of fun,” said Andrew Johnston, who unveiled the rest of the series in downtown Montreal.

McCall, who will wrap up his term as the Centaur Theatre’s artistic director in the fall to take a job at Purdue University in Indiana, has worked with the theatre in the past, Johnston said.

“We’ve been talking to him for a while about (directing a play), and we’ve got a great cast for him to work with,” Johnston said.

The choice of another Foster play was not lost on Johnston, because the crowd-pleasing Foster has quickly become the theatre’s go-to playwright.

“Somebody joked that (Hudson Village Theatre) has a policy of wanting to produce the entire canon of Norm Foster plays, and I don’t suppose that’s entirely inaccurate,” Johnston said.

Other shows on the schedule include 4 Strong Winds, by Corey Castle (Aug. 2 to 19) and Wingfield’s Folly by Dan Needles (Aug. 23 to 26).

The Village Theatre Sunday Concert Series will boast crowd-pleasing Genticorum (Aug. 5).
