A local teacher is hoping her math puzzle book catches on with smart kids.
Bogusia Gierus, who teaches at Kuper Academy, with the help of her husband Alex, launched the Hexa-Trex puzzle book last year.
"It's for people who like both puzzles and math," said Gierus, 32, a Beaconsfield mother of two young boys...

Do you really think Mark Streit will pass up millions of dollars because his girlfriend's a Montrealer? He's a nice enough guy to consider it, but does anyone really think anyone in the NHL gives "hometown discounts" anymore, if GM's don't offer MORE to guys with roots in a certain city to be sure to keep them?

Don't you wish proud Montrealer Jason Pominville was playing for Team Canada at Worlds? I guess if you can handle a few years living in Buffalo you deserve American citizenship...

With over 120 people running through the streets of the West Island last year, organizers of the West Island Crusade Against Cancer (WICAC) annual run hope even more people will show up for this Saturday's event.
Founded in 1995, WICAC is a volunteer-run organization that holds events all throughout the year to raise funds for organizations like the Canadian Cancer Society and Nova West Island.
According to Steve Allen of the Phoenix Running Club, which is helping organize this year's event, he hopes people will recognize the community aspect of the run: Nova West Island and the West Island Palliative Care Centre will both receive donations from the funds raised.
?One of the things we're trying to bring out is the local charities behind this,? he said...
